H.R. No. 2666

	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The McGregor Family Learning Center is dedicated to
	helping McGregor residents of all ages improve their level of
	academic achievement; and
	WHEREAS, Recognizing the important role parents play as their
	children's first teachers, the center works to ensure that mothers
	and fathers are well prepared to serve in that capacity; the
	center's adult programs promote family literacy by developing
	language, reading, and writing skills and encouraging their daily
	use in the home setting; and
	WHEREAS, The center's programs include GED and ESL classes
	that enhance the knowledge of parents and provide them with crucial
	skills they need in the workplace and other environments; moreover,
	the center sponsors events such as Family Literacy Day to raise
	awareness of its initiatives and of issues surrounding adult
	education; and
	WHEREAS, Through its commitment to literacy, the McGregor
	Family Learning Center is making a positive difference in the lives
	of many area residents, and it is indeed fitting to recognize its
	contributions; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
	Legislature hereby honor the McGregor Family Learning Center for
	its service to the community and extend to the teachers, staff, and
	students sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
	further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
