H.R. No. 538

	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The African American Republican Club of Collin
	County (AARCC) works to promote the principles of the Republican
	Party; and
	WHEREAS, The AARCC was founded in 1999, and today the
	nonprofit organization is ably guided by club president Terrye
	Evans; members come together monthly to discuss GOP principles and
	strategies, as well as issues affecting African American
	Republicans in the area; and
	WHEREAS, Through the AARCC, citizens are able to gain a
	greater understanding of governmental affairs, increase their
	knowledge of current events, and participate in the campaigns of
	candidates with similar views; and
	WHEREAS, The vitality of a community depends in large measure
	on an involved citizenry, and members of the African American
	Republican Club of Collin County are making a lasting difference
	through their commitment to political activism; now, therefore, be
	it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
	Legislature hereby recognize the African American Republican Club
	of Collin County and commend its members for their civic
	engagement; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
